Petition is addressed to: International artistic community, international casting platforms, directors, producers, casting directors, acting agents
Dear art community,
We, Ukrainian actors and cultural figures around the world, call for a boycott of Russian actors, casting directors, and agents. Stop financing Russia, stop the cooperation with russians!
On the 24th of February of 2022 Russian Federation invaded Ukraine to occupy our country, kill our citizens and culture. As of 17th of March, thousands of civilians were killed by the Russian army, 108 of them were children.
Meanwhile, Russian actors continue to act in films and play in theatres, they are cast and invited to international projects! They continue to earn money in other countries and finance the bloody regime of V.Putin!
We are actors from Ukraine and artists from around the world ask to stop cooperation with Russian actors, casting directors, and acting directors:
- We ask to block all accounts of Russian actors, casting directors, and acting agents on world casting platforms, such as: e-Talenta, CastUpload, Spotlight, Mandy, enCast, Actors Access, IMDB and many others
- We ask international acting agents, casting directors, directors, producers to terminate their contracts with Russian actors and stop casting them for new international projects
- We ask to exclude Russian actors from participation in international competitions, festivals, cinema, and theatres awards
Reason
The crimes of the Russian Federation and Vladimir Putin personally are now being investigated at the Hague court and are condemned around the world.
Russia must immediately suspend military operations in Ukraine, the UN International Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday, in The Hague. And this is a fact now, follow this link: https://news.un.org/en/story/2022/03/1114052
But it is not enough to stop them.
- For 22 years, Russian citizens supported Putin's criminal regime and now they support this war https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/03/08/russia-public-opinion-ukraine-invasion/
- Numerous Russian actors earned their money in Ukraine, Europe, and the USA.
- Some of them supported the regime directly by acting in propaganda films, others spread propaganda messages or showed their support through media. For example, a famos russian actor Dmitry Pevtsov called ucrainians nazi and supported the war in Ukraine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wut9dGf8cg
- Another famous actor not only supported V. Putin since 2014, but also fought against Ukraine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQLgcjQpmcc HE CONSTANTLY SUPPORTS A REGIME OF V. PUTIN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2U-8fNevRwg
- Vladimir Mashkov, a famous director and actor, is also one of those, who support a bloody regime and he mentioned this on his page in Instagram: https://ura.news/news/1052535184
- An many others celebrities and actors. You can see this list in russian: https://niklife.com.ua/ru/focus/73660
Of course, it’s not a complete list...
With their support, silence, or indifference Russian militarists are taking our homes, our lives, and the lives of our loved ones.
Instead of participating in castings, filming in your projects, they should take action, go to their city square and demand their government to stop the war!
Please, support Ukraine, sign this petition and help us to STOP THE BLOODY REGIME of V. Putin.
