CHARLES’ TAKE ON GENDER BASED VIOLENCE (GBV)
ARTICLE 53 The constitution recognizes rights of all children to be protected from abuse, neglect, harmful cultural practices and all forms of violence, inhumane treatment, punishment and hazardous or exploitative labour.Health Education Family life
This petition demands:
- Investigations to the accused and arrest the perpetrators
- Setting up safe places for counselling - Gender and affirmative action to instil policies and programs for those experiencing Gender Based Violence. (GBV)
- Ministry to create support groups with regular physical meetings for a safe haven and share together.

Gender based violence (GBV) has been a tool to promote poverty and early deaths. As we mark this year’s 16 days to fight against GBV.
I hereby create awareness about this fallacy affecting many families and the human fraternity and the today world.

The rise in cases of GBV is alarming. 42% men and women believe that GBV is acceptable under certain conditions over 80% reported cases of GBV were either current or former partners. Say no to all forms of GBV.
Reject and Say No to Gender Based Violence (GBV).

Reason

1. Raising awareness on what constitutes Gender Based Violence
2. Impact it has on communities and individuals
Preventing violence through respectful relationships, consent unhealthy communication, early intervention through education can prevent violence before it starts.
3. Empowering victims by educating the public about Gender based Violence we can create an environment where victims feel supported, understood and empowered to seek help.
4. Through legal and policy change. uninformed population is more likely to advocate for stronger laws and policies against gender Based Violence

5. Community safety through creating safer environments

6. Changing attitudes and social norms through stereotypes, cultural beliefs and power imbalances

Thank you for your support, Charles Mbatha Mutisya from Machakos,Kenya
