Petition is addressed to: Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments

The petitioner expresses concern at the oil exploration activities planned by the Kingdom of Morocco off the coast of the eastern Canary Islands, which pose an environmental threat to an area of high ecological sensitivity recognised by the European Union. He also calls on the EU to make known its position regarding the implementation of the Final Act of the Third United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea, Resolution III, in line with the Charter of the United Nations. The aim would be the recognition of a free and sovereign archipelago state or of full internal autonomy for the Canary Islands archipelago.
