The so called “zoo” in the Hisarlaka park of Kyustendil does not meet any European, humane, or other reasonable standards for keeping and caring for wild animals. The “zoo” should seize to exist in its current form. The cages in which the large animals, such as the lion, are imprisoned, need to be removed and the animals relocated to an adequate sanctuary, possibly in another country, which can provide them with enough space to roam and give them proper care and a more fulfilling life.

Reason

I am proposing that the wild animals be relocated following a thorough veterinarian assessment and that transport be provided to a wildlife sanctuary more suitable for their needs. For decades these animals have been locked up in these cage-prisons without any space to roam and engage in any physical or mental activities. This is torture and locking these beautiful animals in cages is unacceptable
