The point of this petition is to provide the aerial protection on the Ukrainian sky, in case of attacks conducted by russian air force units, with the goal to prevent successful targeting of the civil objects, infrastructures etc. And therefore prevent thousands of people killed under air attacks. I'm not sure if NATO will take this step after all or not, but by showing interest in the subject matter we can prompt any other actions which may be necessary to help Ukraine save as many of its civilians as possible asap. Russia is fighting a dirty war. To protect the European family one must be decisive and strong with the aggressor who spat on all human rights. Я из Украины и лично я категорически против любой войны, но я понимаю, что есть Добро и Зло, и, если уж сложилось так что Украине приходится защищаться, надо постараться сохранить как можно больше жизней, закрытое небо позволит избежать непредсказуемых ударов в короткой перспективе, а значит заранее провести эвакуацию мирных жителей и спасти их жизни. То что закрытое небо приведет к ядерной войне, мне кажется маловероятным, потому что в России тоже люди и они прекрасно понимают чем это закончится, тем более, закрытое небо - это не агрессия и уж тем более не подготовка к ядерному удару.

Decisions of NATO have to be determined by more noble feelings than fear of Putin. If the main feeling is fear, why it will be gone when Putin will attack a small NATO country? Suggestion for NATO and Ukrainian Government. Ukraine 'prepares' 10-km-wide buffer zone along the borders with Russia and Belarus. Then NATO helps Ukraine to shut down any flying objects thrown by Putin and Lukashenko into Ukrainians. Such a buffer zone could be considered as Ukrainian territories, where NATO and Ukrainian forces conduct a joint anti-terrorist operation. Those who stay close to the borders would need to be evacuated. Is this feasible? NATO could formally call it anti-terrorist operation in Ukraine, given that Putin calls this war "de-bla-bla-bla operation". Why not?

NATO countries cannot get their sh*t together. They're not united on sanctions, they are not united on ammunition (fiasco with sending planes). This weak response is a sign to Russia, China, all other countries - that's ok to launch a war. And my impression is that NATO is ready to ditch Poland if things will go south. And Baltic states later.
Ukraine should stop trying to bring other countries (my own included) into this war. I have absolutely no intention to sacrifice myself and my family for Ukraine. With this kind of pressure, empathy tends to dissipate.

NATO shouldn't go to Ukraine. Yet. But they should send a lot of planes. It's not different from other lethal ammunition. The only difference is Biden is scared of Putin when he mentions nuclear. And it's not sustainable. Because, firstly, even Putin wouldn't risk nuclear war since Russia would be annihilated by NATO. There's a misunderstanding on how a No-Fly Zone works. It would be a direct escalation by NATO that could lead to a World War. You are literally asking for NATO members to send in troops into the war. Somebody needs to enforce the No-Fly Zone, so NATO would need to have international soldiers (from all members, including nuclear powers like US, France, UK) on the ground all around Ukraine, manning anti-air weapons systems (SAM sites, etc). While there, these soldiers represent both NATO, AND their home countries. If they kill Russians or are killed, that is an act of war amongst nuclear powers

NATO declaring a no-fly zone over Ukraine would require NATO to enforce that no fly-zone. That means that sooner or later, you're gonna have to shoot down an aircraft. That would lead to all-out war between NATO and Russia which would 100% lead to an all-out nuclear exchange. A full-scale nuclear war will result to countless deaths and the destruction of civilization as we know it. Unfortunately, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
