Petition is addressed to: Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments

The petitioner protests against the establishment of a green zone in Bucharest, Romania, which prohibits access to the centre of the city for non-Euro, Euro 1 and Euro 2 vehicles and restricts it for Euro 3 and 4 vehicles. He argues that this decision is discriminatory and infringes European legislation and the right to property of owners of non-conforming vehicles, as well as the principle of fair taxation, because not all polluters will have to buy a vignette (Euro 5 and 6 are exempt). Among other things, the petitioner claims that the measures adopted to reduce pollution are excessive and that road traffic is not the major source of pollution in Romania.
