Petition is addressed to: School Principles

According to medical research a child should not carry more than 10-15% of their own weight. My child is in class 3 and weighs 20kgs and his school bag weighs 15kgs on average days and with all the books it weighs even more hence I feel it’s important that all parents come together and sign a petition for lockers in school for every child so they don’t have to carry heavy school bags everyday.

Reason

This is important because it’s not only tiring but can be a reason for back problems later in life. I studied from the same school and 20 years later I have back problems hence I would never want my child to go through it. School heads saying that a teacher, driver or parent can carry it for them is not a solution. It’s unfortunate to see a school that claims to be the best and charges extortionate fees has been unable to implement a basic necessity in the last 20 years. The only thing that has increased is their monthly fees. It’s not difficult and can be copied from west as the government schools in the western countries are offering this service.

Thank you for your support, Zeeshan Khurram from Sialkot
