Cop 27 was on November 2022, COP28 will be on November 23, at the same time as the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference.
New petition description:
How much will it take to prevent climate crisis?
Experts have converted by 2%: 2% of the global GDP invested in clean technologies and infrastructures. The global GDP in 2020 was estimated at 85 trillion. 2% of this is 1.7 trillion.
Politicians easily swift resources translated in GDP percentage points when there are major crisis. For example, because of the COVID pandemic a little less of 14% of the global GDP was allocated to fight it.
We are an international group of secondary students participating in an Erasmus+ project 'Acting Now for the Future'. Throughout our project we've been learning about each other's environmental problems and we are fully aware of what might fall on our shoulders as adults and perhaps it will be too late to solve it.
Finding enough data through Dr. Yuval Harari's Sapienship.co we start this petition to call for EU delegates, world leadersleaders, the UN and COP27COP28 decision makers' attention, to agree to allocate 2% of their GDP in order to prevent climate change and to take the necessary action for the present and future generations' sake.
We’re slowly feeling climate change impacts on our life, but in some regions they have been feeling them for years and with a much bigger devastating impact. If we don’t reverse this reality it will get worse by the minute and that’s why we ask for your help. If many people sign this petition, our EU representatives will discuss it and may take the further action needed .
Remember, it only takes 2%!
