Dear All,

It has been a while since we asked you to support us in asking the Government to review the legislation on zoos in Malta.

On 9th November, the Government finally published a public consultation with a set of regulations that they proposed would replace the current legislation on zoos. Some of the provisions are certainly a step forward, however Time for Change Malta is very concerned about the loopholes in these provisions. We have submitted our feedback which you can find here: issuu.com/timeforchangemalta/docs/time-for-change-malta-feedback-on-zoos-public-cons?fbclid=IwAR2iF-PHKmUgo7zoeFn_41NvO5Ly9qJ1IpW7mIYMR9fLOJtzcFTVMegSiDQ.

We ask you to help us out again by submitting your own feedback to these proposed regulations here: meae.gov.mt/en/Public_Consultations/MAFA/Pages/Consultations/PublicconsultationondraftLegalNoticeontheKeepingofWildAnimalsinZoosRegulations2020.aspx. You do not need to submit a detailed submission, simply comments on what you think is most important to ensure the protection of animals in zoos.

Please take the time to inform our Government of what your concerns are, and do not hesitate to reach out to us on timeforchangemalta@gmail.com to ask for assistance if you need any help. Please stand up and be counted for the animals. Please also follow us on Facebook to stay up-to-date. Thank you all.
