Petition is addressed to: Government of Castlebar
Following a recent risk assessment conducted at St Peter's National School a number of urgently required road safety improvements were identified which require intervention by Mayo Co. Co, NTA & Department of Transport. We are requesting your support to help improve road safety for our children and road users in the area.
Reason
School children are our most vulnerable road-users and we want to encourage parents and staff to help lobby for safer road conditions at and around the school.

Why people sign
My child attends snugboro national school, within walking distance if walking were a safe option, no doubt many other families in the garyduff area are in the same boat, a footpath linking the school with the town would ease congestion around the school, reduce unnecessary driving, promote exercise and most importantly provide a safer environment for our children and indeed any other road users, it would also make walking into town a more attractive option and improve safety for the many people who take walks in the area.
My child attends Snugboro NS and we live within walking distance, yet the traffic and lack of footpath makes it impossible for him to walk to school safely.
